Malden 2022 Election Results: Polls Close
Ballots are being counted in the 2022 election in Massachusetts. Patch will be updating results live as they come in.

MALDEN, MA — Polls have closed in Malden.
In addition to casting votes statewide races, Malden voters recently made decisions in races in the regional Fifth Congressional District race and in a race to represent the Fifth Middlesex District in the State Senate.
Malden voters in state House of Representatives districts currently represented by Paul Donato and Steve Ultrino also had a pair of non-binding local questions on their ballots.

The congressional race is pitting incumbent Democrat Katherine Clark against Republican challenger Caroline Colarusso.
In the Fifth Middlesex State Senate District, Democrat Jason Lewis, an incumbent, has faced a challenge from Wakefield Town Councilor Ed Dombroski.

The district contains Malden, Melrose, Stoneham, Wakefield, Reading and parts of Winchester.
Local ballot questions included question five, which asked voters whether they supported instructing their representative to vote for a single payer health care system at the state level.
Ballot question six then asked voters whether they supported instructing representatives to vote to change state legislature rules to make House committee votes fully public.
Those votes currently take place partially behind closed doors, raising some concerns from transparency advocates.
