Malden Celebrates Longtime City Employee

Ron "Butch" Lessard has spent 25 years working with the city of Malden.

MALDEN, MA — Malden recently gave one of its long-serving municipal employees a moment in the spotlight with a celebratory citation.

Ron “Butch” Lessard has marked 25-years of service to the city, as noted in an announcement from the Malden Mayor's Office last week.. A Public Facilities employee, Lessard is a licensed journeyman HVAC technician.

Lessard has worked in various city buildings and has separately served as a project manager for Malden High School renovations.

A role as assistant director of public facilities saw Lessard manage an $8 million energy efficiency project in Malden aimed at converting various city infrastructure items to more efficient alternatives, officials said.

“This has earned the city of Malden to be the best in class with respect to efficiencies among municipalities,” city officials said on Wednesday.
