Police have separately notified other authorities, according to Cronin, including the Massachusetts Peace Officer Standards and Training Commission, which oversees the state’s certification process for police officers.
Cronin did not identify the officers involved in this incident.
The officer accused of using a racial slur will remain on paid administrative leave pending the results of the current investigation, Cronin said.
