Malden, Medford Football Teams Prep For Fenway Park Thanksgiving Game
The rival Malden and Medford programs will reignite their rivalry next week under the lights in Boston.

MALDEN, MA — Malden and Medford high school varsity football teams will look to end their 2022 seasons in style next week when they face off in a Thanksgiving game at Fenway Park in Boston.
The Fenway Sports Management Group announced the game back in August. Months later, Malden and Medford are now making final preparations for a unique new chapter in their rivalry.
The game is scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 22 at 7:30 p.m. Malden and Medford will take the field for the second half of a doubleheader that starts with a game between Boston Latin Academy and the O’Bryant School at 5 p.m.

General admission tickets are $20, buying entry to both Tuesday games. Tickets are on sale now online.
Malden picked up three wins through the now-completed regular season to finish with a 3-5 win-loss record. Medford played to a 2-6 record.

The two neighboring football programs trace their rivalry back well over 100 years, making for one of the longest-running high school football rivalries in the country.
Malden won last year’s game, inching past Medford by a score of 12-10.
While Medford and Malden football teams will be the ones playing under the lights in Boston next week, preparation for the game comes as sports communities in both Medford and Malden also celebrate the launch of new local unified football programs.
The schools held their first unified football game on Wednesday, as reported by WCVB.
Unified sports see student athletes with and without intellectual disabilities come together on one team to compete. Local unified football programing has launched alongside other unified programs in other sports at both Malden and Medford High School, the station reported.
