Malden Snowstorm: School Canceled, Parking Restrictions In Place
The city's seasonal parking rules will go into effect at midnight.
MALDEN, MA — The city of Malden will enact its seasonal winter parking restrictions starting at midnight, but did not go as far as calling a snow emergency for Friday's storm.
School will be canceled in Malden on Friday, Mayor Gary Christenson announced on his Twitter page.

The city's seasonal parking regulations require residents to park on the odd-numbered side of the street 24 hours per day, unless otherwise indicated. There are some exceptions, so visit cityofmalden.org/streetalerts to find out the rules at your address, which may include more restrictive rules.

In a statement, the city said it has been impacted by staffing shortages due to COVID-19, so "things will move a bit slower than you may be used to in past years."
The area is expected to get 6-8 inches of snow Friday and is under a winter storm warning, according to the National Weather Service.
