Malden 2023 Voter Guide: Municipal Election Is Tuesday
Here is what you need to know ahead of the upcoming Municipal Election.

MALDEN, MA — The City of Malden's Municipal Election is on Tuesday, Nov. 7.
The offices on the ballot will be: Mayor, City Councillor At Large, City Councillor in Wards 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8, and School Committee member in Wards 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8.

Candidate profiles: Patch sent every candidate a questionnaire. Below are the questionnaires that have been filled out and returned.
- Carey McDonald For City Council, at-large
- Karen Colón Hayes For City Council, at-large
- Sheila Rachels For City Council, Ward 2
- Amanda Linehan For City Council, Ward 3
- Ari Taylor For City Council, Ward 5
- Stephen Winslow For City Council, Ward 6
- Dawn Macklin For School Committee, Ward 4
- Keith Bernard For School Committee, Ward 7
To participate in the election in Malden, residents must be registered to vote at least 10 days prior to the election. Anyone who meets three basic criteria can register.

In-Person Voting on Election Day takes place in several locations. Details about voting locations are available in English and Chinese.
Voters can submit their Vote By Mail completed ballots by:
- Delivering to the City Clerk's Office, Room 220 at Malden City Hall, 215 Pleasant St.
- Mailing to Malden City Hall, 215 Pleasant St., Room 220, Malden, MA 02148 (The United States Postal Service recommends allowing up to 7 days for mail delivery).
- Placing in a ballot drop box at City Hall or the Malden Police Station, 800 Eastern Ave.
When you receive your ballot: Vote, sign the affidavit envelope, and return your ballot to City Hall to be counted.
Ballots must reach your local election office by the close of polls on Election Day in order to be counted. Ballots cannot be dropped off at a polling place on Election Day.
