Malden Winter Warming Center To Hold Info Session

MALDEN, MA — Organizers behind the Malden Warming Center in Malden will hold an informational meeting this week just as temperatures drop and the potential need for warm shelter increases locally.

The event is set for Monday, Nov. 21 at 7 p.m. at the First Church of Nazarene at 529 Eastern Ave. in Malden.

The Warming Center is a temporary night center operating between Dec. 1 and March 31 at the Church of Nazarene. It aims to provide safe, warm shelter to people experiencing homelessness during New England’s harsh winter months.

The center provides warm clothing and toiletries, when available, and retains staff who can connect guests to various services, as described on the center’s website.

Portions of Massachusetts saw their first snow of the season on Wednesday of last week. Temperatures have dropped more broadly, with Accuweather forecasts on Sunday projecting low temperatures lingering in the low 30s through the beginning of this week.
