“In this case the defendant allegedly threatened the officers on scene and refused to comply with their requests,” said District Attorney Marian Ryan in a statement. “This was a dangerous situation that thankfully ended without anyone getting hurt.”
The district attorney gave the following account: “On Friday, December 25, Everett Police responded to a report of shots fired on Summer Street in Everett. Upon arriving at the scene authorities announced their presence and entered the home of Lavoine. The defendant allegedly refused to comply with police officers’ request that he show his hands and also refused to exit the house. The defendant was allegedly armed and had locked himself in a room at the home stating that he would take officers out if they tried to enter. The standoff ended when a fire was observed in the house and Lavoine came out.”
