UPDATED: Suspicious Package Deemed Safe in Malden

Police were on scene in Malden, investigating an apparently suspicious bag outside an office building there Friday morning.

Malden, MA - People evacuated from buildings, including a daycare, are returning Friday in Malden, after police deemed a suspicious package was not a threat.

Police were on-scene at the corner of Exchange Street and Main Street, investigating an apparently suspicious bag outside an office building there Friday. A bomb squad was reportedly called to the scene, and police blocked off Main Street between Route 60 and Salem Street to investigate.

As of about 9:45 a.m., evacuated individuals were returning to their buildings, after getting the all-clear from police.

Traffic has resumed its normal patterns, and Malden police say they are continuing to investigate the situation.
