Tornado Warning Lifted In Malden, Surrounding Towns

The National Weather Service's tornado warning for the Malden area expired at 1:45 p.m.

MALDEN, MA — The National Weather Service issued a tornado warning for the Malden area Thursday.

The warning included Lynn, Revere and Chelsea and expired at 1:45 p.m.

The NWS said flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed, and damage to roofs, windows and vehicles is likely to occur. Tree damage can be expected as well.

Area residents are warned to move to a basement or room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building and avoid windows.

People who are outdoors, in a mobile home or vehicle, should move to the closest substantial shelter.
