Eleven more positive cases have been reported in Medford since Monday.
MEDFORD, MA — There are 19 active positive cases of the coronavirus in Medford as of Wednesday, according to the latest numbers on the city website. An additional two people have recovered, bringing the total number of cases to date to 21.
There were eight active cases on Monday. Health officials said all residents who have tested positive are in quarantine.
Positive cases include a student at Medford High School and a parent of a first-grader at the Brooks Elementary School. Health officials asked all students and staff at the Brooks School to self-isolate until March 27, which is 14 days from the last day the child was in school. The MHS community does not need to self-isolate, unless they are showing symptoms, because the student did not show symptoms until several days after school was closed.
