5 Things: Medford Company Opening New Call Center, Tufts Commencement, Housing Authority

Good morning, here are five things to know today:

A Medford-based roadside assistance company will be bringing 500 new jobs to a Tennessee city by opening a call center, according to a press release. Agero, headquartered on Cabot Road in Medford, has decided to purchase a 56,000 square foot building in Clarksville, Tenn. for a new call center, according to a company press release. It will open for business at the end of October, the release said; Agero anticipates that it will hire 250 employees by the end of the year and another 250 in 2013, the release said.

2. Weather: Great weather is expected today and through the weekend, according to the National Weather Service. Highs in the 70s are expected with sunny skies, today through Sunday.

Tufts University's 2012 Commencement will be held Sunday, May 20. Author, humanitarian, and Navy SEAL Eric Greitens will deliver the commencement address and Lawrence S. Bacow, Bonnie Bassler, Cecilia Ibeabuchi, and Farooq Kathwari will receive honorary degrees. Phase one of the ceremony will take place on The Green, between Ballou Hall and Bendetson Hall, and phase two takes part at multiple locations. Tickets are not required for either phase.

The Boston Globe is reporting that Medford Housing Authority Executive Director Robert Covelle is set to resign from his post. Covelle will receive three months severance, about $31,500, according to the Globe.
