Good morning, here are five things to know today:

Piles of trash bags are often set out on sidewalks in city squares days before garbage trucks make their rounds, according to city councilors, and they're sick of it. "The mayor could pick up the phone tomorrow and have this addressed, there is no doubt in my mind," City Councilor Robert Maiocco said in a Tuesday meeting. "The only word I can think of is disgrace.”

2. Weekend Weather: Mostly sunny skies are expected today, with highs around 70 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. There's a 50 percent chance of rain tomorrow, and mostly sunny skies expected Sunday.

A total of 37 Medford residents will be in attendance for the state's Democratic convention, where delegates will pick the party’s endorsement for the U.S. Senate race.  

Twice as many foreclosure actions were taken this April in Medford compared to the same month last year, according to recently released real estate data. A total of ten foreclosures petitions were filed in Medford in April, doubling the five that were filed in April 2011, according to data from The Warren Group, a Boston-based real estate publisher.
