: Tom Vilsack, the U.S. Secretary of Agriculture, visited Agrivida on Friday. The Medford biotech company is developing technology that could revolutionize they way certain crops used for biofuels are grown.
: On the agenda: A report on interviews of candidates to become the next principal of Andrews Middle School. The meeting starts at 7 p.m. at City Hall.

Scattered Showers: There's a 40 percent chance of rain today, according to the National Weather Service. Highs are expected to be in the mid-50s.
: According to Scarlett Nielsen, almost 5, volunteers at the May 7 GreenUp CleanUp "did a good job." There were a handful of adults and at least as many children helping to clean up Carr Park that day, and Scarlett stood out as one of the youngest helpers.
