MELROSE -- Eleven  students face suspension from their sports teams after pictures showing the students drinking and smoking tobacco were given to school administrators on Tuesday last week.

: SOMERVILLE -- Radio has a new, tech-savvy life thanks to the crew at the recently launched Boston Free Radio, an uncensored, online station housed at the  (SCATV) studios in Union Square.

: WINCHESTER -- Town Meeting members voted unanimously to support Article 1 of the Special Town Meeting, which gives the Massachusetts Bay Transit Authority permission to access Winchester land. The MBTA will be using the land to construct handicap ramps, mini-high platforms and a new drainage system for the ramps.

: MALDEN -- Members of Malden's Superintendent's Search and Advisory Committees are meeting to review applications for the position which is being vacated by Sidney Smith, who has announced his retirement effective July 1.

: ARLINGTON -- A possible water main break caused some traffic delays on Massachusetts Avenue in Arlington Thursday, but things were repaired by the late afternoon.
