Peacuddy's Closes After 12 Years: Peacuddy's Café and Bakery has closed after 12 years in Melrose, the last three-and-half years on Franklin Street and prior that as Sweet Tooth Baking Co. on Main Street. Owner Ellen Hegarty hung a hand-written sign in the window informing the community of neighborhood café's closing. -Daniel DeMaina
Malden Mayor Aims to Close Government Center by End of First Term: Malden Mayor Gary Christenson has long advocated moving city hall from it's 200 Pleasant St. offices near Malden Center, a move he said would save taxpayer money and re-open downtown Malden to foot traffic from the nearby MBTA stop. Off the campaign trail and in the corner office, Christenson has now established a concrete goal for his staff: relocate Government Center by the end of his first term in office. -Chris Caesar

Wakefield Native Joins NBC's 'The Voice' - A Wakefield native joined NBC's singing compeition "The Voice" on Monday night. James Massone, 23 a graduate of Wakefield Memorial High School Class of 2006, performed a cover of "Find your Love" by Drake and was accepted onto the show. "This audition is the biggest thing I've ever done," he said on the show. -Sara Jacobi
Charges Dropped Against Professor Accused of Operating Meth Lab: The Middlesex District Attorney has dropped charges against Somerville resident Irina Kristy, who was accused of running a methamphetamine lab with her son out of their home on Oxford Street, according to Cara O'Brien, a spokesperson for the district attorney. Kristy, 74, is a college professor who has worked as a lecturer in mathematics at Boston University and Suffolk University.
