Cinco de Mayo; Cab Fares Take a Hike; Five Guys Aims to Open in June

The burger chain is nearing the end of the licensing phase, and is looking to open its new joint in Station Landing sometime in June.

The city council approved increases to cab rates in the city. Rates will change from $1.60 for the first eighth of a mile to $2.40, and from 45 cents for each mile after that to 55 cents.

Lacrosse, Baseball and Tennis at Home Today: The boys lacrosse team plays at 4 p.m., Baseball hosts at 4 p.m., and girls tennis takes on also at 4 p.m.

Head to the bar and grill right over the city line in Malden for a Cinco De Mayo celebration and fundraiser for an Avon Walk team between 7 p.m. and 11 p.m.
