Celtics Honor Medford's Sam Fuller As 'Hero Among Us'
Fuller, a construction worker, was recognized for dressing as Santa Claus while driving his backhoe to raise money for children in need.

MEDFORD, MA — The Boston Celtics recognized Medford resident Sam Fuller as a "Hero Among Us" for his fundraising efforts for children in need over the holidays.
Fuller, who works for Mirra Construction, raised money for the Salvation Army by dressing as Santa Claus while operating his backhoe. His effort netted thousands of dollars from passersby for children in need.
The Celtics honored Fuller during their Jan. 17 game against the New Orleans Pelicans.

The "Heroes Among Us" program, now in its 25th year, recognizes "outstanding individuals who have made exceptional and lasting contributions to their communities." The award is presented at every Celtics home game and pays tribute to the heroic achievements of outstanding citizens.
