City Budget Outlined, Meetings Tonight

Good morning, Medford. Here's five things to know today:

: Facing other options of municipal layoffs or raising taxes next year, the city council voted to use surplus funds in a water and sewer account to offset a $1.2 million deficit Tuesday night.

Budget Meetings Tonight: Head to room 207 at City Hall at 5:30 p.m. for a budget hearing for various city departments. At 7 p.m., the school committee will hold a pre-budget meeting at the Superintendent's meeting room at the high school.

Nice Day: It's going to be mostly sunny with temperatures in the low 70s, according to the National Weather Service. Tomorrow will be more of the same; mostly sunny with highs in the low 80s.

Farmers Market Opens Tomorrow: Head to the Whole Foods parking lot on Mystic Valley Parkway between 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. for the kickoff of the weekly market. It will feature local produce, crafts and other goods, and some live music.
