Colina Formally Charged in Somerville Man's Death

Reports confirm that Jonathan Camilien, of Somerville, was a longtime friend of his alleged murderer.

As was announced on Wednesday, a Cambridge man accused of dismembering and improperly disposing of human remains was formerly charged with murder Tuesday.

An autopsy reportly shows the body parts found both in and near Carlos Colina’s apartment on Saturday, April 4, belonged to 26-year-old Somerville Man Jonathan Camilien, and the cause of death is listed as “homicidal violence of an uncertain type.”

While authorities aknowledged Camilien and Colina knew each other, they never disclosed the nature of their relationship. Familiy members who spoke to the Boston Herald confirmed that they were, in fact, longtime friends.

“They’ve known each other for quite a while,” Dominique Camilien, Jonathan’s uncle, told the Herald.

“I cannot speculate about what happened because I don’t know all the details. (Jonathan) is a good kid, he doesn’t bother anybody. It’s one of those things we didn’t ever expect to happen - not to Jonathan. He didn’t deserve this.”
