Hearing Wednesday on Parking Garage Plan

The city will hold a public hearing on preliminary designs for the Governors Avenue parking garage.

A public hearing is slated next week for a proposed design plan for a new parking garage on Governors Avenue.

The meeting will be held at council chambers at City Hall at 6 p.m. Wedensday, June 29.

Early estimates said the garage would cost about $7.5 million. City officials have previously said it will likely need to be paid for with a bond.

Parking in Medford Square has been a hot issue in Medford. The city council passed a resolution calling for parking enforcement to be implemented in the Medford Square before plans proceeded for the garage.
