Hot Off the T: 5 Things to Do in Boston This Weekend
Free admission to the MFA; flags on the Common; and some indie rockers out of Liverpool.

- FREE ADMISSION TO THE MFA: This Memorial Day, head to the Museum of Fine Arts and receive free admission all day! The Museum is open from 10 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. Click here for more info.
Take the Orange Line to Ruggles Station and walk 10 minutes to the MFA.
- FLAGS ON THE COMMON: Volunteers from the Massachusetts Military Heroes Fund, a nonprofit that supports families of those lost in military operations in Iraq and Afghanistan, have placed thousands of American flags on Boston Common, each representing a fallen Massachusetts service member. They'll be on display through Memorial Day. Check out this .
Take the Orange Line to Downtown Crossing and walk a block to the Common.
- PLAY DATE: WHAT'S INSIDE? WHAT'S OUTSIDE?: On Saturday, May 28 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m the Institute of Contemporary Art will have family music and games on the Grandstand. Children will be able to create a cut-paper mural of Boston in the Bank of America Art Lab under the direction of children's book author and artist Giles LaRoche. And it's free for families (up to 2 adults per family accompanied by a child 12 or under).
Take the Orange Line to State Street Station and walk 20 minutes (some of it a seaside stroll along Boston's Harborwalk) to the ICA.
- WIZARD OF OZ EXHIBIT : On Saturday, May 28 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. the Children's Museum will provide an interactive fantasy-adventure that takes children and families from the Gale Farm to the colorful Land of Oz, where they explore Munchkinland, The Crossroads, The Witch's Castle and The Emerald City
. The cost is $12.
Take the Orange Line to Downtown Crossing (or State Street) and walk 10 minutes to the museum.
- JUST ANOTHER BAND OUT OF LIVERPOOL: Indie rockers, The Wombats play Hurricane O'Reilly's, 150 Canal Street on May 30. The website bills them as a UK super group. Check 'em out. Doors open at 7 p.m. And it's free!
