Longtime Medford Councilor Michael Marks Not Seeking Re-Election

Marks spent 26 years in local office, including six on the Medford School Committee.

MEDFORD, MA — Longtime Medford city councilor Michael Marks will not run for re-election this year.

Marks was first elected to the City Council 20 years ago after serving six years on the School Committee.

"For almost three decades, you have honored me with your trust," Marks said in a statement Monday. "Conversations with you and being your Council voice on so many issues ranging from the condition of streets, infrastructure to tax rates have made up the fabric of my daily life. I have never taken your trust for granted. I accepted it as a solemn duty."
