McGillivray - a Medford High School alumnus, like Campbell - had not been back to Medford High since his 1972 graduation. But the onetime Medford High valedictorian told Channel7 that he returned to inspire the youth.
“I ran my first Boston Marathon as a 17-year-old senior, here at Medford High School,” he said. “And I’ve run it every year ever since.”
