Mayor: Medford Has Saved $300k+ With New Recycling Program

Nearly 4000 tons less trash has been picked up in Medford this year.

The city's new trash and recyling program has netted savings over $300,000 so far, according to a press release from the Mayor.

Over the last seven months, Medford has saved $338,000, and 3947 less tons of trash has been collected, Mayor Michael McGlynn said in a statement. 

"This program has been such a win-win for this community," McGlynn said in the statement. “As always, it is gratifying to see the citizens working together to help make Medford a greener place in which to work, play and live."

Single stream recycling went into effect in Medford in November 2010. Residents received one 64-Gallon bin for trash and another 96-gallon bin for all recyclables.
