Medford Honoring Firefighters Of The Past With Annual Tradition
The event is scheduled for early June.
MEDFORD, MA — The fire department is hosting its annual Fire Fighters Memorial Event on Sunday, June 8.
The city has been holding the event for more than 120 years to honor its firefighters who have died in the last year. The Medford Firefighters Relief Association is one of the main sponsors behind the event and is one of the oldest organizations of its kind in the country. It has historically provided financial assistance to widowed spouses of firefighters who were unable to obtain life insurance benefits.
This year’s event will be led by Lieutenant Danielle Marcellino, President of the Medford Professional Firefighters Association.
