MEDFORD, MA — The city will lift its snow emergency at 8 p.m. Friday, and regular parking regulations will resume at that time.

Residents of a main artery who parked on a permit-only secondary street will need to move their cars after 8 p.m.

When parking, especially on narrow side streets, park as close to the curb as possible, and ensure there is enough access on the street for emergency vehicles. If emergency vehicles are not able to access the street, vehicles may be subject to ticketing and towing.

City ordinance requires property owners to shovel all abutting sidewalks within six daylight hours after the end of a storm. Snow cannot be shoveled into the street. If possible, please also clear paths at corners and crosswalks, and make sure nearby fire hydrants are accessible in case of an emergency.
