Medford Man Accused Of Illegal Gun Possession

The 26-year old man was arrested and charged with one count each of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition.

MEDFORD, MA — A Medford man is accused of illegally possessing a firearm and ammunition, according to Boston police.

The 26-year old man, whose name has not been released, was arrested and charged with one count each of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, police said. He was arraigned in Roxbury District Court.

On Friday around 9:30 p.m., officers assigned to the Youth Violence Strike Force were patrolling near 516 Columbia Road in Dorchester when they conducted a CJIS query on a car whose registration was listed as revoked.

Officers stopped the vehicle and, after further investigation, found a .40 caliber firearm loaded with one round in the chamber and ten rounds in the magazine.

One additional magazine containing thirteen rounds of ammunition was also recovered.
