Medford Man Arrested During Increased MSP Patrols

Kevin Hegarty, 33, was charged with OUI liquor and a seatbelt violation.

Over this past weekend, Massachusetts State Police conducted increased patrols in several locations in the Commonwealth, and a Medford man was among the arrests as part of the patrols.

Kevin Hegarty, 33, of Medford, faces charges of operating under the influence of alcohol and a seatbelt violation following his arrest over the weekend.

A "saturation patrol" was held in Middlesex County by state police on Friday night into Saturday morning, followed by a sobriety checkpoint on Route 16 in Everett.

State police said they made 10 overall arrests for OUI or drugs as part of that patrol. They said all 10 were to be arraigned in Woburn District Court Tuesday morning.

On Saturday night into Sunday night, state police conducted a saturation patrol in Worcester County followed by a sobriety checkpoint in Worcester. This resulted in a total of 13 people charged.
