Medford Mayor Joins MBTA Advisory Board As Vice Chair
Lungo-Koehn has been Medford's mayor for the past three and a half years and highlighted public transit as a critical issue.

MEDFORD, MA — Medford Mayor Breanna Lungo-Koehn has joined the MBTA Advisory Board as one of the vice chairs for the 2023-2024 year, transit officials said in a statement.
The MBTA Advisory Board's new officers are charged with advancing the Advisory Board’s mission to provide public oversight of the MBTA on behalf of its 176 community members and the transit-riding public.
Mayor Thomas Koch of Quincy remains chair of the MBTA Advisory Board. Mayor Koch, a dedicated transit advocate, has been mayor of Quincy for 16 years and chair of the Advisory Board for 15 years.

Mayor Lungo-Koehn and Mayor Sean Reardon of Newburyport are both joining Koch as vice chairs.
Lungo-Koehn has been Medford's mayor for the past three and a half years and highlighted public transit as a critical issue since her first days in office. Mayor Reardon was elected in January of 2022, and has worked tirelessly since his inauguration to advocate for inter-city public transit.

In addition to the three mayors, Bridgewater Town Manager Michael Dutton, JD, IACM joins the Advisory Board as Secretary/Clerk, and Wellesley Select Board member Colette Aufranc joins as Treasurer.
"The MBTA Advisory Board is confident that under the collective leadership of these esteemed public officials, public transit in Massachusetts will thrive," the Advisory Board said in a statement. "We extend our warmest congratulations to the newly appointed officers and look forward to their transformative contributions in the year ahead."
