Medford Nonprofits Receive Funding Boost Through Grant

43 organizations received financial assistance through a Community Fund Committee program.

MEDFORD, MA — The city granted approximately $250,000 in grant funds to 43 local nonprofits after a months-long application process.

The money was distributed by the Medford Community Fund Committee as they received 50 applications totaling nearly $650,000 in requests during September and October.
Mayor Breanna Lungo-Koehn reportedly identified alternate funding sources for two of the nonprofits that were not awarded grant funding this round. In addition, Committee member Erin Rafferty secured funding for the American Legion’s two grant applications through her employer, Suffolk Construction.

The full roster of grant recipients is Action for Boston Community Development, American Legion Post 45, Arts Collaborative Medford, ArtsAlive Medford, Baden-Powell Service Association of Mystic Valley, Brooks School PTO, CACHE in Medford, Chevalier Theatre Organ Society, Down by Riverside, Evangelical Church of Holiness, Food Link, Friends of Medford Rowing, Friends of Medford Recreation, Friends of the Medford Public Library, Housing Families, Malden Warming Center, McGlynn Elementary PTO, McGlynn/Andrews Middle School PTO, Medford Band Parent Organization, Medford Chamber of Commerce, Medford Community Chorale and Youth/Young Adult Chorus, Medford Educational Foundation, Medford Farmer's Market, Roberts Elementary PTO, RISE Multicultural Services, Medford Professional Firefighters Association, Trees Medford, The Welcome Project, Medford Invitational Tournaments, Medford Recreational Hockey, Medford Senior Citizens, Medford-Brooks Estate Land Trust, Medforge Community Makerspace, Medford High School-MVTHS PTO, Missituk Elementary School PTO, Mystic Players Revival, Mystic River Watershed Association, Shiloh Baptist Church, Mystic Valley Elder Services, Mystic Valley YMCA, The Immigrant Learning Center, The Greater Malden Asian American Community Coalition, and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1012.
