Medford To Participate In National Veterans Fundraiser
A city cemetery will become one of the newest sites for Wreaths Across America.
MEDFORD, MA — Oak Grove Cemetery on Playstead Road will be one of the nearly 5,000 locations throughout the country for the 2025 edition of Wreaths Across America.
The national movement recognizes military members for their bravery through sponsoring wreaths during the holiday season. Three million volunteers will facilitate the fundraiser on Saturday, Dec. 13.
According to Mayor Breanna Lungo-Koehn, Medford’s goal is to place 250 wreaths on the headstones of veterans at the cemetery. She named Medford’s Veterans Services Director Veronica Shaw for giving the city and the cemetery a chance to participate in the effort.

“Bringing Wreaths Across America to Medford is a reminder that honoring our veterans is not just a one-day event, but a shared commitment to never forget their sacrifices,” Shaw said. “Each wreath placed is a symbol of gratitude, respect, and unity.”
Volunteering and wreath-sponsoring opportunities are already available on Wreaths Across America’s website.
