Medford Police Promote 3 Officers
James Benoit, Carl Brooks and Richard Ziobro each have new ranks within the Medford Police Department.

MEDFORD, MA — The Medford Police Department celebrated the swearing in of three promoted officers on Thursday, police announced.
Swearing in ceremonies took place at City Hall, marking the beginning of new roles for officers James Benoit, Carl Brooks and Richard Ziobro.
Benoit rose to the rank of captain while Brooks became a lieutenant and Ziobro became a sergeant.

“Good luck in your new positions and we look forward to your leadership,” Medford police said to Benoit, Brooks and Ziobro in a message on social media.
A leadership transition within the Medford Police Department comes after the departure of longtime police captain Kevin Faller late last year.

Faller had spent his entire 27-year career to date with the Medford police, serving for the last 11 years at the rank of captain. He left Medford at the end of November for a new role as the chief of the Melrose Police Department.
