The placard reportedly belongs to a close family member of the officer.

MEDFORD, MA — A police sergeant is being investigated after reportedly using her mother’s disability placard in order to park her vehicle in designated parking spaces, according to a report from NBC 10 Boston.
Barbara Decristofaro was seen using the placard in order to park in accessible spots at the police station for two straight days. Two law enforcement sources reportedly then confirmed that the placard belonged to Decristofaro’s mother, who is 88 years old.
Somerville Chair of the Commissions for Persons with Disabilities Holly Simione expressed her disappointment in the officer’s actions, citing that her position of authority makes the offense especially wrong.
