Medford Schools Will Return Remote From Holiday Break
District officials plan to return to in-person instruction "with caution" in January as COVID-19 cases continue to rise in Medford.
MEDFORD, MA — The Medford Public Schools will return from the holiday recess completely remote, similar to the start of the school year, and bring back students after about a week. District officials say they are planning the return to in-person instruction "with caution" as COVID-19 cases rise in Medford.
School will begin remotely for all MPS students (Cohorts A, B, C, and D) on Monday, Jan. 4.
"We have decided to begin school in full remote mode in order to allow our public health officials to monitor COVID-19 transmission rates coming out of the holiday season," Superintendent Marice Edouard-Vincent said in a statement.

The district expects that students will return to in-person learning the week of Jan. 11. The Brooks School, which is remote until the break due to the number of staff members in quarantine, will start in-person learning Jan. 14.
