Medford To Welcome First Poet Laureate
Author, poet and artist Terry Carter will be honored at a ceremony on Monday.
MEDFORD, MA — Mayor Breanna Lungo-Koehn and the Medford Arts Council will welcome the city's first poet laureate Monday at a ceremony at City Hall. Local author, poet and artist Terry Carter has been chosen as the inaugural poet laureate.
The ceremony will begin at 6:30 p.m. and include networking, light refreshments and poetry.
Additional events and meetings will be planned in the coming weeks and months as part of the Poet Laureate’s official roles, but the community is invited to joint the kickoff event.
