On the Agenda: City Budget Talks Start This Week

The city council will begin its scrutiny of the proposed city budget on Wednesday, when they hold a committee of the whole meeting to hear from the city's Law, Retirement, Weights and Measures, Human Diversity, Information Technology, Community Development, City Clerk , EIection/Registration, Legislative and Executive departments.
The meeting will take place at 5:30 p.m. in room 207 of City Hall.
On Tuesday, the city council will hold its regular 7 p.m. meeting with the following items expected to be discussed:

- Requests from Council President Robert Maiocco for the appropriate department head to update the council on the proposed Nurses Association building on Winthrop Street, and for City Solicitor Mark Rumley to update the council on a proposed new ordinance for city massage parlors.
- A resolution from Councilor Breana Lungo-Kohen calling for the City Assessor or Director of Fianance to provide the amount that will have to be budgeted by July 1 in order to not raise taxes next year.
