On the Agenda: Police, Fire, DPW Budget Review

Items from upcoming city council meetings.

The city council will hold a committee of the whole meeting Wednesday to preliminarily review proposed budgets for the Medford Police, Public Works and Fire Prevention departments. The meeting takes places at 5:30 p.m. in room 207 at City Hall.

The following are among items the council is expected to discuss during its regular meeting Tuesday night at 7 p.m.:

  • A request from Mayor Michael McGlynn for the council to recind its vote against a loan request for a study on Medford Police Headquarters. The loan required five votes, but failed, 4-3 when it was voted on in April. At that time, the loan request was for $250,000, this time it will be for $175,000, according to a council agenda.
  • A resolution from Councilor Robert Penta to discuss lighting in the Condon Shell parking lot.
