On the Agenda: Sports Teams to be Recognized

Medford High School basketball and girls hockey teams made it to the state tournament.

Medford's City Council will recognize several Medford High School sports teams that made it to their respective state tournaments at tonight's meeting.

The council will meet at the Howard F. Alden Auditorium at City Hall at 7 p.m. Here is their full agenda.

Councilor Breanna Lungo-Koehn is asking the council "commend and congratulate" the high school's girls and boys basketball and girls hockey teams for going their Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletics Association (MIAA) tournaments at the end of the winter sports season.

"The young men and women worked extremely hard this year and deserve to be acknowledged for their hard work and dedication," the agenda says.

Lungo-Koehn also has a resolution to "commend and thank Penelope Bruce and Brooke Johns, for all of the hard work and effort they have and are putting into working on and creating TEAM Medford, which is striving to protect our youth from Alcohol and other drugs."

Councilor Robert Penta will be offering a resolution "that the net amount of 1 billion dollars of proposed foreign aid offered to Egypt by the President be discussed in the interest of our Medford community."
