Police Investigate Threat Involving Medford High School Student
Police identified the student involved and said there is "no active credible threat" to the school.
MEDFORD, MA — Police are investigating a threat of violence made against Medford High School.
The threat was brought to the attention of authorities Wednesday night, and police "immediately" identified and questioned the student involved, according to a letter sent to the high school community.
"There is no known active credible threat to the school or the community at this time," Medford police wrote in an email to Patch. "We are very happy with the relationship and open communication we have with the School Department, and we were able to resolve this incident quickly last night once brought to our attention."

There was an additional police presence at Medford High School Thursday morning, due in part to the threat but also in response to increased traffic congestion during the first few days of school, according to the letter.
