Police Log: Brother Charged in Alleged Screwdriver Attack

Medford police log; Friday, June 24 to Sunday, June 26, 2011.

The brother of a man arrested last week in connection to an alleged screwdriver attack now faces the same charges as his kin, according to the police log.

John Marckini, 21, of 41 Lund Road was arrested there about 5 p.m. Sunday. He was charged with outstanding warrants - two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and two counts of assault and battery to collect a loan.

Marckini and his brother, Ryan, allegedly followed a car with three men in it to a stop sign on Central Avenue, where Ryan Marckini got out and assaulted two of them, police said. The confrontation was over a drug debt, according to a police report.
