From our humble beginnings at a table on Congress Street during Portland's First Friday Artwalk, we've grown into a beloved household service with a big climate impact. Today, we service more than 40,000 households, schools, restaurants, businesses, and events across the region. We're expanding our reach with the vision of bringing convenient curbside composting to communities throughout New England. Our ethos is simple: make composting approachable, convenient, and impactful while supporting local economies. Through our work, we're tackling one of the largest contributors to greenhouse gas emissions—food waste in landfills—and turning it into a resource that nourishes the region's soil and farms.

MEDFORD, MA—The city's Economic Development Department announced it has partnered with UpNext, a business consulting company, to spotlight local small businesses. Project: Pop Up has appeared in 20 Massachusetts communities featuring a total of 70 different brands since it was founded in 2021. Its goal is to give participating businesses the chance to grow their companies. The program's Medford edition will feature a temporary storefront on 68 High St. in which numerous entrepreneurs will house their businesses between May 1 and July 15. The city is accepting applications from small business owners who employ fewer than five people, and have a household income of 80% or less of the area median income of approximately $118,000. Applications can be completed <a href="https://project-pop-up.com/apply/medford-1" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">online</a> through Project: Pop Up's website. According to the city, it is funding the use of the commercial space through federally Community Development Block Grant funds.
