Search For Missing MHS Senior Continues
Nicholas Joy went missing Sunday at Sugarloaf ski resort in western Maine.

, is a senior at Medford High School, according to Medford Superintendent Roy Belson.
Belson led off Monday night's Medford School Committee meeting with a statement regarding the search for Joy, 17.
Belson confirmed that Joy is a senior at MHS and had not been found "in spite of the serious efforts by the (Sugarloaf) ski patrol and the wardens up in Maine."

The Medford school community has been "praying and hoping for the very, very best," according to Belson.
"At the request of the family, we have not given any great details to anyone who's asked us about Nicholas and his background and we will continue to honor that at this particular time," Belson said.

Preparations have been made at MHS in case students need counseling or assistance over the next few days, Belson said.
"We know everyone is doing their best to find Nicholas," Belson said. "We're hoping for the best and our thoughts and prayers are with his family."
Authorities in Maine expect the search to continue Tuesday after more than 40 searchers combed the large ski area on Monday, according to the Boston Herald.
Due to bad weather, authorities have been unable to use aircraft to help conduct their search, the Herald reported.
Joy was reportedly skiing with his father and was last seen on the Timberline chairlift at the mountain at around 12:40 p.m. Sunday.
