Some Guidance on Yard Waste Disposal in Medford
Now that you can finally go outside again, maybe it's time to clean your yard?

Well, for the most part, the snow is melted. It almost seemed like winter would go on indefinitely for a while there. But it didn’t, and fortunately, the National Weather Service forecasts a breezy, warm weekend in Medford. Ergo, Saturday and Sunday could provide a worthwhile opportunity to clean your yard, or at least start the process.
But once you’ve gathered up piles of grass, leaves, and branches, what’s to be done with them?

- Yard waste is collected during select weeks in Medford between April and December. Some months have two yard waste pickup weeks, others just have one, and November has three. The complete schedule is available here.
- The next upcoming week for leaves and yard waste pickup is that of May 4, so if you do clean your yard this weekend, it’ll be a little while before you can dispose of the debris.
- Yard waste should never be left out on the curb in plastic bags. The city only accepts it in large paper bags and open barrels.
- The large paper bags and open barrels containing yard waste should be placed at least four feet away from regular trash and recycling.
