Suspect Arrested Following Stabbing In Medford: Police

MEDFORD MA — One person has been arrested following a stabbing in Medford Thursday afternoon, according to police.

Officers responded to a 911 call regarding a physical altercation in the area of Riverside Avenue and Commercial Street around 4:30 p.m. Upon arrival, police found one man suffering from multiple stab wounds and another man close by.

The victim was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.

Police say a preliminary investigation suggests that a fight broke out between the two men, during which one pulled out a knife and stabbed the other. The two men were known to each other.

The suspect was arrested and is being charged with armed assault to murder. He is expected to be arraigned Friday morning at Somerville District Court.
