Melrose Resident Receives State Citation After Eagle Scout Milestone

MELROSE, MA — A Melrose resident was recognized last week after previously attaining the Scouts BSA rank of Eagle Scout earlier this year, State Rep. Kate Lipper-Garabedian announced.

Lipper-Garabedian presented Maddie Nerden with a citation from the Massachusetts House of Representatives on Dec. 21, noting Nerden's Eagle Scout success.

The Eagle Scout rank is the highest rank available in the Scouts BSA organization.

Nerden earned her rank through work that included a community service project to construct two gardening carts primarily for older adults at the Milano Center in Melrose, as reported by WCVB in July.

Nerden, the station reported, is the seventh member of her family to become an Eagle Scout.
