The Caribbean nation will make its second appearance in the world's largest soccer tournament.

MELROSE, MA — A former Melrose High School soccer player has since graduated to one of sports’ biggest stages, according to a report from Boston 25 News.

Frantzdy Pierrot has been a driving force behind the Haitian National Team earning a berth in the 2026 World Cup. The forward led Haiti in scoring during the Gold Cup this fall, helping secure only the second World Cup appearance for the nation in the tournament’s history.

Melrose High School Soccer Coach Dean Serino said that Pierrot’s determination was what stood out most about his former player, in addition to all his physical skills.
