MILFORD, MA — Milford's annual litter confab will return in April, with residents, community groups and elected officials fanning out across town to pick up whatever has been discarded — even some odd items.

The 2023 Milford Beautification Day will be the eighth organized by Citizens For Milford and will coincide with Earth Day 2023.

During the event, volunteers will scour town streets, parks, pathways and more for litter, aiming to collect as much as possible over four hours. Last year, 150 volunteers collected 13 truckloads of trash.

"I hope that many people, young and old, join us to clean up the streets of Milford on April 22. It is a great way to meet others from the community who take pride in their town," event organizer Nancy Wojick said in a news release.

Major sponsors of the event include Milford Federal Bank, Friends of the Milford Upper Charles Bike Trail, the Lions Club and the Milford Highway Department. Volunteers will be provided with tools like trash bags, gloves and safety vests. Water will also be provided.
