The final Kindergarten registration opportunity will be Tuesday.
Our weekday morning column, 5 Things You Need to Know, provides you with information that can help you plan your day and give you some fodder for water cooler conversations.
1. A Milford Schools Kindergarten Registration date will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 9, a makeup date of sorts for an evening registration that was cancelled due to a snowstorm.
2. Milford Police have released a statement that the non-profit organization D.A.R.E. will be conducting telephone solicitations in the area, but that the anti-drug program is not used in Milford and funds will not be directed to the local police.

3. The Milford Regional Chamber of Commerce's Connecting Women Leaders Luncheon will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at 3 Restaurant in Franklin. Contact the Milford Chamber to register. The event costs $20 for members and $30 for non-members.
4. The Blaire House on Claflin Street has received a recommendation from the Planning Board for a garage that will house 12 of its vehicles. The existing storage area for its vehicles will be taken up by an addition. The Planning Board forwarded the recommended approval of the new structure to the Zoning Board of Appeals, with the condition that none of the fleet be washed at the facility.

5. a non-profit corporation which is now headquarted in Milford on Sumner Street, is seeking permission from town officials to place four of its collection boxes on sites around town. The 4-foot by 4-foot yellow boxes would be installed at the Planet Aid headquarters, PiNZ, Shaw's Supermarket and Kohl's shopping plaza if the town's Zoning Board of Appeals agrees.
