5 Things You Need to Know Today: April 8
The developers who want a casino in Milford will speak for the first time since the application to Milford Selectmen.

1. The developers who want to build a casino in Milford are expected to attend the Milford Board of Selectmen's meeting Monday, to present an overview of their proposal. The meeting will be in the upper chambers of due to the anticipated crowd.
2. Casino Free Milford, a group that is opposed to the casino here, is encouraging its supporters to wear red and attend the meeting. The group members will picket in front of Milford Town Hall, beginning at 4 p.m.

3. Milford Public Schools will celebrate Healthy Kids Week this week. Elementary and pre-school kids are encouraged to "match their meal" by wearing a healthy color of the day, and bring a snack that matches the color, too. The elementary school cafeterias will play into the color-matching theme, too. What is the schedule? Monday – red (Red Sox Opening Day at Fenway); Tuesday – green; Wednesday – orange; Thursday – yellow; Friday – blue (dairy).

5. The Milford Police Department will host a Drug Take Back Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 27.
